American Education Week 2016

During the week of November 14-18, Dover Elementary faculty, staff, and students celebrated American Education Week.  We participated in a variety of activities throughout the week.

On Monday, kickoff activities included inspirational quotes by the Teacher of the Year and students wrote testimonials about their favorite teacher.  Tuesday, students designed art work to depict/illustrate the character traits of their favorite teacher.  On Wednesday, faculty, staff, and students wore red to indicate they have the H.O.T.S. (higher order thinking skills).  Thursday, parents and community members were able to partake in a delicious Thanksgiving meal with students, faculty, and staff members.  Students also created writing pieces about why they appreciate their teachers.  On Friday, faculty and staff members shared a "Fantastic Friday" breakfast to culminate the week’s activities. Very special thanks goes to our beloved principal, Sylvia Williams, for providing faculty and staff members with a wonderful lunch in an effort to express her gratitude for their commitment to educating our students.
